ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR-
We have received multiple reports regarding the use of cannabis at several properties located on Oxbow Close, Blackberry Crescent and Kennelmore Road. These concerns are being actively assessed, and appropriate action will be taken where necessary.
Several residents have also raised concerns about general anti‑social behaviour involving groups of youths on Casterton Drive, Solway Close and Lowesby Close. These reports are being reviewed, and patrol plans will be adjusted accordingly.
We have received numerous complaints relating to problematic parking in and around schools across the beat. Issues reported include vehicles being parked on pavements, obstructing pedestrian access, parking at junctions, stopping in restricted areas, and blocking residential driveways.
Further concerns have been raised regarding vehicles parking at junctions on Hunters Drive and in the area surrounding Grange Drive.
Through Neighbourhood Link, ASB call‑backs and our social media channels, members of the community have consistently identified anti‑social behaviour as a key concern on the Melton Town South Beat. We will continue to work closely with residents and partner agencies to address these issues.

We have received multiple reports regarding the use of cannabis at several properties on Oxbow Close, Blackberry Crescent and Kennelmore Road.
Action: These reports are being actively investigated by neighbourhood officers. Regular patrols will continue in these areas and appropriate enforcement action will be taken where offences are identified.
Several residents have raised concerns regarding general anti‑social behaviour involving groups of youths on Casterton Drive, Solway Close and Lowesby Close.
Action: Patrol plans have been adjusted to increase visibility during the times these incidents are most likely to occur. Youth engagement officers will also be conducting visits and working with local partners to identify those involved.

Action: Directed patrols will monitor these locations and action will be taken against vehicles causing obstruction or endangering road users.

Officers are carrying out targeted speed checks in these locations, focusing on times identified through community reports.
We are working with the Roads Policing Unit to support enforcement activity and address persistent speeding issues.
High‑visibility patrols will continue in these areas to deter unsafe driving and reassure residents.
Data gathered during speed operations will help inform future patrol plans and identify any need for additional road‑safety interventions.
We continue to do our best to implement speed‑calming measures across the Melton Town South Beat. This includes the use of speed cameras, high‑visibility officer presence and regular speed checks.
By maintaining these measures consistently, we aim to reduce the speed of vehicles travelling through the area.
The speed‑monitoring van is also deployed regularly at key locations across the beat, further supporting our efforts to manage vehicle speeds.

DRUG DEALING-
Over recent months, we have received multiple reports relating to drug dealing and drug use across the beat. Areas specifically highlighted by members of the community include Solway Close, Oxbow Close and Hartopp Road.
Through Neighbourhood Link, Social Media accounts, and direct community feedback and information, the community have raised the issue of Drug Dealing on the Melton Town South Beat. which seems to be a common issue across the whole beat.

Status Update
Over recent months, we have received multiple reports of drug dealing and drug use across the beat, particularly in Solway Close, Oxbow Close and Hartopp Road.
Action: Officers continue to carry out high‑visibility foot patrols at reported times and throughout the day to deter activity and gather intelligence.
We have also received reports of cuckooing, where vulnerable individuals have their homes taken over and used for criminal purposes.
Action: We are conducting welfare visits to those identified as being at risk and working closely with partner agencies to ensure safeguarding measures are in place.
Joint work with the Safer Communities Team from Melton Borough Council continues, including patch walks and targeted visits to address drug‑related concerns.
During a recent safeguarding visit to a vulnerable female, a male linked to drug use was located inside the address. He was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act and instructed to leave.
Action: Although no drugs were found, the information gathered supports our ongoing intelligence work, and we continue to support the female with partner agencies.
A Section 8 PACE warrant was executed at another address. Officers located a male and seized quantities of Class A and Class B drugs. He was arrested and later released on bail while enquiries continue.
